Key District goals and strategies include implementing content standards and benchmark assessments in language arts and mathematics, expansion of parent and business partnerships, improving healthy attitudes and behaviors of students, and a focus on Native/minority student achievement.
The Juneau Schools are committed to making the curricular, programmatic, and instructional changes necessary to prepare students with the skills needed to be successful in the future. The District is supported by a great community and the University of Alaska Southeast. The District is committed to technology integration among staff and students to enhance student achievement. As a result, our students and staff have many of the productivity and communication tools needed to produce quality work. The impact of technology has affected the life and learning of each member of our school community and we continue to need additional training and increased access to technology for staff, students, and families
