Description
The Salmon River Central School District is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Superintendent of Schools during an important period of reflection, accountability, and renewal for the district.
The Board of Education is working with Dale Breault, District Superintendent of Franklin-Essex-Hamilton BOCES, to conduct a comprehensive superintendent search. As part of this process, Mr. Breault is collaborating with the Board to develop a detailed district and candidate profile, which will be informed by a broad community and school-based survey and released at a later date. Given the district’s current circumstances, however, the Board wishes to begin soliciting applications without delay.
The Board is seeking a highly skilled, experienced leader with the capacity and resolve to guide the district through the work of rebuilding trust and confidence, while also providing thoughtful, strategic leadership for the future. Of particular importance is the ability to lead with transparency, sound judgment, and a strong commitment to student dignity, safety, and well-being.
Salmon River CSD serves a significant population of students and families who are members of the St. Regis Mohawk Tribe. The Board seeks a superintendent who understands and honors this relationship and who is committed to building and sustaining authentic, respectful partnerships with the Tribe, its leadership, and the broader community. Experience working in culturally responsive environments and a demonstrated commitment to collaboration, equity, and inclusion are essential.
Additional details regarding the district, community priorities, and desired leadership characteristics will be forthcoming as the search process continues.
